Aniplus Asia announced that it will air WIT STUDIO’s Vivy -Fluorite Eye’s Song- as part of its Spring 2021 anime simulcast lineup. The show will premiere on April 3 at 24:00 GMT+8, with subsequent episodes to air at the same time every Saturday. Encores will be on Sunday at 20:30 GMT+8.
The staff for the sci-fi anime includes Shinpei Ezaki as director, Yuusuke Kubo (Strike Witches: Road to Berlin Ep 3 and 6 storyboarder) as assistant director, Tappei Nagatsuki (Re: Zero author) and Eiji Tsumehara (Re:Zero episode script writer) as series composers and scriptwriters, loundraw (Tsuki ga Kirei) as original character designer, Yuuichi Takahashi (2.43: Seiin High School Boys Volleyball Team) as character designer, and Toshiaki Miki (Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl co-animation director) as sub character designer.
Other staff members include Takuma Ebisu (Attack on Titan Season 3 action animation director and prop designer) as mechanical designer, Yuusuke Takeda (GREAT PRETENDER) as art director, Kunio Tsujita (Sarazanmai) as color designer, Keisuke Nozawa (Plunderer) as photography director, and Satoru Kousaki (BEASTARS) as music composer.
The currently announced cast members include Yagi as Vivy and Jun Fukuyama as Matsumoto.
Aniplus Asia describes the story as:
NiaLand is an A.I. theme park that blends dreams with hope and science. Vivy was created as the world’s first autonomous humanoid A.I. to work as a cast member in the theme park. She gets on stage every day to sing, but she is not very popular.
“I want my singing to bring happiness to everyone.”
Vivy continues singing in hopes of one day achieving her goal of performing on the theme park’s main stage.
One day, an A.I. who calls himself Matsumoto appears before her. Matsumoto claims to be an A.I. from one hundred years into the future, and that his mission is to rewrite history with Vivy, in order to stop a war between A.I. and humans that would happen a century later.
How will the encounter between these two A.I.s with such different missions change the course of the future?This is a story of I(Vivy) destroying I(A.I.)…
