#Anime Adaptation of Kurokata’s Isekai Fantasy Novel Chiyu Mahou no Machigatta Tsukai-kata in The Works

Also at the “MF Books Label 8th Anniversary Web Special Program!” last night, an anime adaptation of Kurokata’s isekai fantasy light novel Chiyu Mahou no Machigatta Tsukai-kata: Senjou o Kakeru Kaifuku Youin (How Not to Use Healing Magic: Recovery Team Running Through the Battlefield) was confirmed to be in the works. 

As with Ningen Fushin no Boukensha-tachi ga Sekai o Sukuu Yo Desu, it was first serialized on the Japanese user-generated novel publishing website Shousetsukani Narou from March 2014, then its print edition featuring illustrations by KeG was published from the MF Books label for 12 volumes from March 2016 to March 2020. Its manga adaptation illustrated by Reki Kugayama has been serialized on KADOKAWA’s Monthly Comp Magazine from since its June 2017 issue and so far eight volumes have been released. 

The novel author Kurooka wrote on Twitter after the announcement, “I’m very happy to announce that ‘Chiyu Mahou no Machigatta’ will be made into an anime!I’m so overwhelmed with emotions that I’m at a loss for words…, but first of all, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the readers who have supported us until today…!” Then, the novel illustrator keG also said on Twitter “I’m still surprised because I got the news only a few days ago! It’s been more than a year since the novel ended, but I guess this kind of things can happen…”

The novel first volume’s synopsis:

Usato, an ordinary high school student, is swallowed by a magic circle that suddenly appears on his way home, along with Suzune, the student council president, and Kazuki, his classmate, when they meet by chance, and are transported to another world. The three of them are summoned as “heroes” to save the kingdom from the Demon King’s army, but only Suzune and Kazuki have the aptitude to be heroes. Usato was just involved! However, the situation changes when Usato is discovered to have the rare attribute of a “healing wizard.” He is kidnapped by Rose, a woman who claims to be the leader of the Lifesaving Corps, and is forced to join the group. What awaits Usato there is a hellish training routine with colleagues with tough looks and the “wrong use of healing magic.”
