#Andrew Kaczynski thankful for outpouring of support after death of baby girl

A heartbroken CNN reporter whose 9-month-old baby girl died on Christmas Eve after a three month battle with cancer has pledged to spend his life helping to find a cure for the brutal disease.

Andrew Kaczynski, who is married to Wall Street Journal reporter Rachel Louise Ensign, sent a message of gratitude Saturday night to those who expressed support after the death of their daughter, Francesca, who they nicknamed “Bean.”

“Thank you everyone, your messages have touched our hearts,” he tweeted.

The doting dad also shared a video of the bubbly, beaming babe from before she was ravaged by cancer.

“I know a lot of you didn’t know Beans before her cancer diagnosis in September. She had such a pep in her step before she started treatment. And we’re so fortunate she got six normal months of life. This was from the end of July,” he wrote as he tweeted a short clip of Bean, wriggling and giggling in her crib.

The couple had asked for donations in Bean’s honor, and Kaczynski included a link to a bike event raising money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, where Bean was treated.

“We’re so grateful for how much money has been raised in Francesca’s honor for Dana Farber to fight this terrible disease and we are going to spend the rest of our lives involved in finding a cure,” he wrote.

More than $338,000 has been raised.
