#Andrew Cuomo roasted by late-night TV hosts after resignation

Andrew Cuomo is the roast of the town.

The disgraced New York governor’s belligerent resignation quickly made him the butt of late-night TV hosts on Tuesday night, with Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers all taking shots at him.

Stephen Colbert opened his “Late Show” by declaring it “a beautiful day here in New York City” because “this afternoon Andrew Cuomo resigned.”

“Don’t let the door hit you on the butt on the way out,” he said to cheers from his audience, quipping, “But if it does, that door should also resign.”

Colbert then poked fun at how Cuomo remains in power for another 14 days, admitting it was “for reasons that I do not understand.”

“Evidently he gave himself two weeks’ notice,” he said to laughter.

After detailing many of the sexual harassment accusations from 11 women, the show replayed some of the exiting governor’s press conference in which he still maintained he had “never crossed the line with anyone.”

“Cuomo took full responsibility for his actions — sort of?” Colbert quipped, making it clear he didn’t agree.

The left-leaning funnyman then mocked Cuomo for suggesting that he “didn’t realize” that he had crossed “a line that has been redrawn.”

“I don’t know exactly what line he’s talking about, but hopefully he’ll explain it in his new book, ‘Andrew and the Purple Crayon,’” Colbert joked of the governor who made millions from his book painting him as a hero during the COVID pandemic despite the scandal of nursing home deaths.

“Warning — that’s not a crayon in his hand,” Colbert joked of the mocked-up cartoon of the accused perv. “But it is purple.”

Colbert also noted how Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul “will be taking the seat vacated by Cuomo,” adding after a pause, “Hopefully after putting a towel down first.”

Seth Meyers also started “Late Night” by laughing at the resignation — and knocking CNN, the network under-fire for allowing star host Chris Cuomo to ignore the scandal while moonlighting to help his brother.

“Cuomo announced today that he will resign amid multiple allegations of sexual harassment, so tune in to CNN tonight for … I don’t know, a rerun of the History of the Sitcom?” Meyers joked at Late Night.

Amy Poehler then broke into his monologue to join the joking about “Cuomo go-go,” with the pair discussing the numerous ways the governor justified touching his accusers.

Jimmy Fallon also started “The Tonight Show” by calling it a “big day here in New York as Andrew Cuomo announced that he’s resigning as governor.”

“During his remarks, he said that it was best that he step aside — and then every woman in the room took two steps aside,” he deadpanned.

After sharing a similar “two weeks’ notice” gag as Colbert, Fallon said, “It’s gonna be tough for Cuomo — with a track record like this, his only future is either president or Supreme Court justice.”

He also took a dig at CNN, saying that right after Hochul “was announced as New York’s next governor, CNN offered a prime time show to her sister.”

Fallon said that “the news definitely can’t get any worse for powerful guys named Andrew” — cutting to a news announcement about UK royal Prince Andrew being sued by his long-term sex accuser.

“Ok, it can get worse. Today the queen called Harry and Meghan and was like, ‘Can I crash with you for a while?’” he joked.
