Voices of Our City Choir (Terry Crews)
Audition
The host kicked off the season by hitting the buzzer for this act in the premiere. After performing an original song — “Sounds of the Street” — the choir, which was started for the homeless in San Diego, received a standing ovation. “What they did today has moved me,” Crews said.

Roberta Battaglia (Sofia Vergara)
Audition
The 10-year-old singer, who shared she’d been bullied, received the Modern Family star’s first Golden Buzzer. Though she was nervous, her version of Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s “Shallow” received a standing ovation and praise from the judges. “It was amazing. It was breathtaking. Let’s see who is going to bully you after this,” Vergara told Roberta before advancing her.

Cristina Rae (Heidi Klum)
Audition
The singer, hoping AGT would change her and her son’s lives, might have been asked by Cowell to perform her second song after “In the Air Tonight,” but her “Gimme Shelter” won everyone over, no one more so than Klum. “I think you are absolutely out of this world. My heart is racing for you right now. … I’m ready to push this button for you,” she said before hitting the Golden Buzzer.

WAFFLE Crew (Simon Cowell)
Audition
The members of the dance crew, hoping to show something positive to young people and invest in their community, won over Cowell, who admitted that dance acts aren’t his favorite. “This was, I think, my favorite audition so far. I also understand how important this is to you. I want to give you a little head start,” he told them before hitting the Golden Buzzer.
