“#Alicia Looks Back at History of the ARIA Anime Series in Special PV”

To promote the forthcoming theatrical release of its latest episode ARIA The CREPUSCOLO, the official website for the anime adaptation project based on Kozue Amano’s ARIA slice-of-life fantasy manga series has posted a special PV to look back at its history. The clip is narrated by none other than Alicia Florence (CV: Sayaka Ohara). Ohara says on Twitter, “During the recording of this narration, the studio was again filled with the music of ARIA just like the past recording sessions. It was as if time had rewound…♪”

Following the three TV anime series: ARIA The ANIMATION (2005), ARIA The NATURAL (2006), and ARIA The ORIGINATION (2008), the three-episode OVA ARIA The AVVENIRE was released from 2015 to 2016 as the anime series’ 10th-anniversary project. And now, ARIA The CREPUSCOLO is produced as part of its 15th-anniversary project.
Based on a newly-drawn manga episode by Amano, the story of ARIA The CREPUSCOLO focuses on the members of Orange Planet, including Athena Glory newly voiced by Rina Sato (Mikoto Misaka in A Certain Magical Index / A Certain Scientific Railgun) in place of the late Tomoko Kawakami, who passed away in June 2011. Junichi Sato, who directed all of the previous installments, serves as general director and screenplay writer, alongside director Takahiro Natori (La Corda d’Oro Blue Sky). J.C.STAFF (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) newly works on anime production.
ARIA The CREPUSCOLO is set to be released in 77 theaters across Japan on March 5, 2021. The film was originally scheduled to be released in the winter of 2020, but has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
