#Alice to Therese no Maboroshi Koujou Anime Movie Reveals 2nd Trailer, Teaser Visual, Main Cast, September Release

A second trailer and a teaser visual have been released for the upcoming Alice to Therese no Maboroshi Koujou (Alice and Telle’s Illusion Factory) original anime movie.

The visual, which depicts a girl looking upwards with her back against the audience, has the tagline, “I mustn’t get close to this girl.”

Also revealed was Alice to Therese no Maboroshi Koujou‘s Japanese premiere date of September 15 and the main voice cast, which includes Junya Enoki as 14-year-old protagonist Masamune Kikuiri, Reina Ueda as Masamune’s enigmatic classmate Mutsumi Sagami, and Misaki Kuno as the mysterious, feral Itsumi.

Additionally, a novel version of Alice to Therese no Maboroshi Koujou, written by the movie’s director and creator Mari Okada, will go on sale on June 13. The cover design for the novel, which is published under the KADOKAWA Bunko label and described as the source material for the anime, has been revealed.

Alice to Therese no Maboroshi Koujou was first announced in 2021. The MAPPA-produced title marks Okada’s second directorial work and second feature film following the 2018 P.A.Works-produced fantasy film Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms.

The premise sees Masamune, who lives in a gloomy town that was the site of a steelworks explosion, being led by Mutsumi to the steelworks’ fifth blast furnace, where Itsumi resides. The encounter between these three breaks the balance of the world, and the unstoppable impulse to fall in love between boys and girls who are sick of everyday life begins its destruction.

The staff of Alice to Therese no Maboroshi Koujou includes:

Assistant Director: Tadashi Hiramatsu (Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms core director, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1 character designer)
Character Designer & Chief Animation Director: Yuriko Ishii (Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms)
Art Director: Kazuki Higashiji (Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms)
Music Composer: Masaru Yokoyama (Horimiya)

Warner Brothers and MAPPA are distributing the film.
