#Kana Imprint Releases 1st Volume of Brandon Arias’ Scars Manga

Abrams ComicArts’ manga imprint Kana will be releasing the first volume of Brandon Arias’ debut French manga, Scars, on December 17, 2024. The manga will also be available in comic shops the following day on December 18, 2024. 

Anime Trending has been provided with an exclusive preview of the first volume below. 

Scars was first published in French by Vega Dupuis under the title Cicatrices in March 2020. Two volumes of the series have been published in total so far. 

Kana describes the Scars manga series as: 

Scars Volume 1 centers around two high schoolers, Kyonosuke and Akira, who live in a little village by the Japanese countryside. After an accident leaves Kyonosuke with a permanent scar on his face, he becomes the frequent target of harsh bullying.

Akira, his classmate, is trying to come to terms with her gender dysphoria but is beaten by her father for saying she wants to be a girl. When the two troubled teens meet and fall in love, they decide to escape their toxic environment together. But are they strong enough to accept each other, and themselves, for who they are?
