#After Playing Cyberpunk 2077 For 25+ Hours, I am Conflicted: First Impression! » OmniGeekEmpire

So, Cyberpunk 2077, one of the most anticipated games of the decade is finally here. I played it, and I have to say I am enjoying it. I also have to say that I was lied to. The story is great so far, but there were way too many things I found fell short form what was promised.

Cyberpunk 2077 has been met with an array of issues, bugs, and lies from the jump, which one has to wonder if the game should have been not only delayed but also abandoned the current-gen all together. My time with the game was met with frustration and joy, to be honest. As a PC gamer, I knew that my PC wouldn’t be able to run the game at 4K/60FPS, but I wasn’t expecting a piss poor performance at low settings either like what I got on launch day! Characters glitching, resetting because of game-breaking bugs, FPS at abysmal levels. You can imagine how I felt. Very disappointed, almost like I made a mistake.

Not to mention that the character creation was mediocre at best. Yes, the one main feature that was advertised as a core way to create your very own cyberpunk character in great detail, turned out to be average character creation in the end. However, I have to say the story and gameplay hold up. That was it’s saving grace for me. It’s one of the most immersive gaming experiences I’ve had in a while. Every character I’ve encountered was interesting and compelling, encouraging me to learn more about them through optional dialogue, and it if wasn’t for all the shortcomings the game has, this would have been a solid game. The side missions don’t feel like side missions at all which is great and the sheer scope of the world is impressive, to say the least! There’s just so much to do it’s insane.

However, I can’t in good concession, ignore the flaws that the game, the lies that were told, and the overall lack of optimization.

This was just a short first impression, letting you all know how I currently feel about the game, of course as the days go by, they’ll be more patches to help with the game, but I’m focusing on how it launched day and it was a disaster.
