A somewhat spicy new trailer, a new cast member, and the Japanese TV schedule have all been revealed for The Fruit of Evolution: Before I Knew It, My Life Had It Made (known in Japan as Shinka no Mi ~Shiranai Uchi ni Kachigumi Jinsei~), an upcoming TV anime based on the isekai fantasy light novel series written by Miku and illustrated by U35 about an unpopular high school boy and a talking ape monster that form an odd couple after eating a magical transformation fruit.

In the series, voice actor Tetsu Inada plays Saria, the lady ape monster, prior to her transformation.

The story of The Fruit of Evolution: Before I Knew It, My Life Had It Made follows Seiichi Hiiragi, an unfortunate young man who is despised by his classmates because they consider him homely, chubby, and smelly. Seiichi’s luck goes from bad to worse when his class is transported to another world, but he finds himself alone in the wilderness and pursued by an amorous female gorilla named Saria. The disastrous lives of the unlikely pair take a positive turn after they ingest the legendary “fruit of evolution”, and an unexpected transformation takes place…

A new key visual for The Fruit of Evolution: Before I Knew It, My Life Had It Made TV anime, featuring the main cast of female characters gathered in the foreground, while Seiichi Hiiragi, the protagonist, flails around in the background.

The Fruit of Evolution: Before I Knew It, My Life Had It Made is directed by Yoshiaki Okumura and features animation production by HOTLINE. The series is scheduled to broadcast in Japan according to the following TV schedule:

  • TV TOKYO: every Monday during the 26:00 time slot beginning on October 04, 2021.
  • BS TV TOKYO: every Wednesday during the 24:30 time slot beginning on October 06, 2021.
  • AT-X: every Thursday during the 22:30 time slot beginning on October 07, 2021.

Please note that some Japanese TV schedules count early-morning programming as late-night programming for the previous day, so for example the 26:00 time slot on Monday evening is actually on Tuesday morning at 2:00am JST.
