Don Bosco Prep has never seen talent quite like this.

The northern New Jersey high school baseball field was home to multiple All-Stars for a day, as Yankees Aaron Judge, Aaron Hicks, Mike Ford, retired pitcher CC Sabathia and new Met Dellin Betances got in a workout Monday organized by trainer and youth coach Jason Ferber. Ferber posted videos of the workout to his Instagram account that included Judge and Hicks getting swings in.

“He looks super healthy right now,” Ferber told NJ.com of Judge, who is coming back from a fractured rib.

Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said he was “optimistic” Judge would be ready once the season begins. The Yankees will be having their first workout of spring training 2.0 on Saturday, after players began reporting on Wednesday and Thursday and underwent COVID-19 tests.

Judge took five rounds of batting practice, played catch and caught fly balls, Ferber said.

“He wanted to go in there and at least be a little timed up, facing pitch pressure like on a hitting machine,” Ferber said. “Get a couple of live at-bats. We did some live at-bats.”

Ferber said Hicks, who is coming off Tommy John surgery, looked “shredded,” and in terrific shape.

It wasn’t a strenuous workout, but instead a chance for the players to get loose and get back on the field together. Afterwards, Judge posed for a picture with members of the Don Bosco Prep staff.

“Their energy was very playful,” Ferber said. “They were very grateful to be outside, playing again. They were almost kid-like with the back and forth, messing with each other a little bit when one of them popped up or rolled one over.”
