A Salad Bowl of Eccentrics is an adaptation of the Shogakukan-published light novels written by Yomi Hirasaka and illustrated by Kantoku. In the series, an impoverished detective called Sosuke Kaburaya encounters Sara, a magic-wielding princess from another world. As Sara quickly acclimates to modern-day Japan, Livia, a knight from Sara’s original world, becomes homeless in ours but finds unexpected enjoyment in her days. Sara and Livia’s positive attitudes end up having an effect on not just Sosuke, but other oddballs like a fiendish lawyer, a relationship destroyer, and a religious leader.

The book series began publication under the Gagaga Bunko label in October 2021 and has six volumes as of February 19, 2024. It has a manga adaptation by Koutarou Yamada
