DUNE director Denis Villeneuve said that he was “truly impressed” by the work, saying that “it’s very meaningful to me that other artists can draw inspiration from my work and incorporate it into their own. I consider it a beautiful gift.” Speaking about the image itself, Villeneuve had his eyes drawn the composition of the piece, “there is something so special about using gravity in such a dynamic way to enhance the drawing. I think it’s very beautiful and very poetic.”
DUNE opens in the United States on October 22 after opening in much of the world before then and on HBO Max the same day.
