“Smelly Cat” still slaps.

Dressed in colorful Phoebe Buffay garb, Lady Gaga gave the “Friends” character’s hit song the star treatment during this week’s ballyhooed reunion special on HBO Max.

Gaga joined Lisa Kudrow, 57, on the famous yellow couch of Central Perk to honor the wacky and wonderful world of Phoebe.

“Thank you for being the person for all of us on ‘Friends’ who was, I’m not sure if this is the right way to say it, but the different one or the one who was really herself,” Gaga told Kudrow after covering “Smelly Cat.”

“Thank you — and thank you for carrying it along,” Kudrow responded to the iconoclast “Born this Way” singer.

Gaga belted out her own rendition of the fan favorite coffee house ode to a neglected cat who was not a friend “to those with noses.” Toward the end of the performance they were joined by a group of gospel singers.

“Not bad… that was really, really good,” Kudrow deadpanned at the end of it. “That was so great … I still think it’s better when it’s just me.”

The segment was part of a grand coming together of the cast after 27 years since the TBS show aired. The stars, which also included David Schwimmer, 54, Jennifer Aniston, 52, Courteney Cox, 56, Matthew Perry, 51, Matt LeBlanc, 53, reunited for the unscripted special, reportedly for a $2.5 to $3 million payout.

Among the other surprises unveiled in the show was the revelation that Ross (Schwimmer) and Rachel (Aniston) really did have some behind-the-scenes chemistry, and that Joey (LeBlanc) took a “cringe-worthy” fall while filming — and paramedics had to rush him to the hospital in excruciating pain.

But the addition of guest stars such as Gaga was intended to bring even more magic to the iconic sitcom. Ben Winston, the director and producer of the special, told Variety that the “Poker Face” singer would best channel the character’s je ne sais quois.

“[Kudrow and I] went through a few names, and we both agreed that Gaga, if we could get her, would be the ultimate one because she associates with and feels close to Phoebe in so many ways, as Gaga says on the show,” Winston said.

“That was a really beautiful moment. And Lady Gaga jumped at the chance to do it.”

Winston also revealed that Kudrow and Gaga barely rehearsed together.

“We sat there with the two guitars with Lisa and her and worked it out there and then.”
