Eliza Talal, who was autistic and non-verbal, was found dead Wednesday morning near Towamencin Creek in Fischer’s Park, around two miles from her home in Lansdale, local news stations NBC Philadelphia and WFMZ reported.
The girl was last seen wearing a white onesie t-shirt with short sleeves and no shoes, and was believed to have ventured outside Tuesday at the height of the storm that battered the region, authorities said.
She likely ended up in a creek behind her home and was then carried by the swelling waters to the park, police said. Her iPad was also found in the water.
The tropical storm slammed the East Coast on Tuesday with strong winds, killing at least seven other people.
