The 42nd Doraemon anime movie, titled Eiga Doraemon: Nobita to Sora no Utopia, is set to premiere in Japan sometime in March 2023. A teaser trailer has been released.

Takumi Douyama (Doraemon episode director and storyboarder, Genbanojou director) was announced as the director of the new movie, while Ryouta Kosawa (Great Pretender) is in charge of the script.

The cast includes Wasabi Mizuta as Doraemon, Megumi Oohara as Nobita, Yumi Kakazu as Shizuka, Subaru Kimura as Jaian, and Tomokazu Seki as Suneo.

The previous Doraemon film, Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s Little Star Wars 2021, premiered in Japan on March 4. The first Doraemon anime was a TV series that aired in 1973. The anime are based on or inspired by the Shogakukan-published 1969 manga by the late duo Fujiko F. Fujio.
