Netflix series Mr. Iglesias is set up for an exciting second half to Season 2

Season 2 of the Netflix series Mr. Iglesias finally returned on June 17. The new season was set to have 12 episodes, but only the first half, which features six episodes, has released thus far. The second set of six episodes will release at an unspecified date.

The first half of Season 2 showed Mr. Iglesias (Gabriel Iglesias) continuing to teach his students at Woodrow Wilson High School, but it doesn’t come without some lessons, a school play, Green Week, and many, many tacos. The second half of the season is set up to be ultra-exciting as potential relationships and romances may develop.

Viewers who have come to enjoy the show can only hope that the second half of Season 2 releases at some point this year. Here are some of the biggest questions that have risen after the rather action-packed Mr. Iglesias Season 2, Episode 6:

How will Marisol and Mikey interact with each other after their kiss?

Viewers who have been watching the show have come to realize that the rather dimwitted student Mikey (Fabrizio Guido) has a massive crush on his classmate and the girl literally sitting right next to him in Mr. Iglesias’ class, Marisol (Cree Cicchino).

The school play that took place in Episode 6 depicted that this crush is not one-sided (after many of us thought it was for the entire series so far). This is because Marisol locked lips with Mikey during the school play (Romeo & Juliet, how fitting) after they agreed it would be a friendly kiss on the cheek.

Now, as Season 2 continues, will the two further develop their relationship and become exclusive? Will Marisol brush off the kiss as something that was spur-of-the-moment? Will Mikey be courageous enough to ask her out for real?

How will Jackie and Gabe get along?

After the play, Gabe met a nice lady named Jackie (Elora Casados), who is great at karaoke. She also caught his eye, and he scored her phone number in return. However, Principal Paula (Sherri Shepherd) then introduced the woman as the new guidance counselor.

This makes for interesting news for Gabe, as he and Jackie will now be co-workers going forward. There are obvious sparks between the two, and it’s fair to wonder how they will get along at school when there could be something more there. This will be a major plot point in the second half, as the two will be seeing a lot of each other.

Will Jackie and Gabe pursue a romantic relationship?

This is easily the biggest question for the second half of Season 2. With Gabe finally finding a love interest, the fact that she will work with him makes things a whole lot complicated. Will Gabe and Jackie go on a few dates anyway? Will they only label themselves as co-workers? Will their potential feelings for each other show during work?

The Romeo & Juliet play may be over at Woodrow Wilson High, but a potential new romance could be on the horizon. Stay tuned to see if Gabe will go after the girl!
