“2 brothers, including one with prior murder bust, nabbed in fatal Chelsea shooting: cops”

Two brothers – including one who served time for murder as a juvenile – were busted this week in the “organized murder” of a restauranteur shot dead while leaving a party at a Chelsea art gallery, police and prosecutors said.

Lmani Delima, 30, and Lashawn Delima, 32, were each charged with murder for the Nov. 12 shooting that killed 42-year-old Rasithamar Grant and left two other people wounded, police said.

Prosecutors said the younger of the two, who was nabbed Friday on Long Island, acted as lookout during the crime, sitting in a black 2020 Mercedes on the corner of West 27th Street and 11th Avenue and waiting with the headlights off as the murder occurred.

His older brother — allegedly one of two suspected shooters — was in a BMW with other accomplices.

Surveillance video showed him wearing a black Brooklyn Nets hoodie and approaching the victim outside the the upscale gallery, steps from a ritzy event space, while another man in a white jacket also fired a gun, prosecutors said. Both of the men could be seen running off together and getting back in the BMW before zooming down the block.

Grant, of Queens, was shot multiple times and was transported by EMS to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

An off-duty, assistant deputy warden at Rikers Island, Janae Gregg, 32, was also struck in the leg, cops and police sources said. Also wounded was a 37-year-old man, shot multiple times in both legs, authorities said.

Lmani Delima was previously convicted of second-degree murder as a juvenile and held in state prison from June 2011 until April 2019, when he was released on parole, records show.

In that case, prosecutors said he shot and killed a 15-year-old boy during a fight over selling music CDs.

He is on lifetime parole for a murder conviction, according to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.

Prosecutors requested that he be remanded into custody, but a judge set his bail at $75,000 pending a next court date on Dec. 15.

His older brother was held in state prison from April 2019 until April 2021 on a second-degree robbery conviction, records show. His post-release supervision expired in late October.

He also has assault convictions from 2018 and 2016, the former of which involved a police officer.

When cops knocked on his apartment door in Brooklyn on Tuesday, Lashawn allegedly jumped out a window, prosecutors said. He is charged with two counts of attempted murder in addition to the murder rap.

He was ordered held without bail at his arraignment. His next court date is also Dec. 15.
