One person has been killed with at least eight more injured after a GloRilla concert in Rochester, New York on Sunday, Associated News and NBC News reports. An unnamed 33-year-old woman has been confirmed dead with two of the eight injured in a critical condition.
The incident took place at Main Street Armory and reportedly started when fans thought they heard gunfire inside the venue, leading to a stampede. Police found “no evidence to support a shooting having occurred” inside the venue, Rochester Police Lieutenant Nicholas Adams said in a statement.
“The injuries appear to be as a result of a large crowd pushing towards the exits following accounts of individuals hearing what they believed to be gunshots,” Adams explained.
GloRilla addressed the incident in a tweet posted shortly after the concert ended. “I’m just now hearing about what happened wtf… praying everybody is ok.”
Memphis rapper Finesse2Tymes was also on the bill in Rochester. He has yet to comment publicly on the incident.
The FADER has reached out to Main Street Armory and Rochester Police for further information.
