After many years grinding it out on the underground rap circuit, ZelooperZ – along with the other members of Danny Brown’s Detroit-based rap collective Bruiser Brigade – began to get some much-deserved recognition in 2021. His project Van Gogh’s Left Ear was a marquee release in a very strong year for the label, and on Friday he shared the follow-up Get WeT.Radio, exclusive to Bandcamp for $20.

From the moment ZelooperZ opens his mouth to rap, you get the feeling that anything goes. His “Muppet on downers” delivery is a kind of putty that molds itself around whatever subject and instrumental he chooses. And the beats on this project are top-notch: MIKE, duendita, and nedarb all have one track each, and Black Noi$e comes through with four great ones including a KAYTRANANDA-flavored house excursion called “Skinny Dip” featuring Foushee. All together, the album is an impromptu but welcome reminder that no one does it quite like ZelooperZ. Listen below.
