BN Pictures has released a main trailer for Aikatsu! 10th Story ~ Mirai e no Starway ~. A January 20, 2023 Japanese theatrical release date was also revealed.

The new Aikatsu! anime shares the same title as the series’ 10th anniversary commemoration project, which was screened in July with the Aikatsu Planet! movie. The new Aikatsu! 10th Story ~ Mirai e no Starway ~ once again follows Ichigo Hoshimiya, Aoi Kiriya, and Ran Shibuki from the original 2012 Aikatsu! anime as they near graduation and think about their future paths. 

The show is directed by Ryuuichi Kimura (Aikatsu!, Aikatsu Planet!) with a script from Youichi Katou (Aikatsu! series composer) and character designs from Hiroko Yaguchi (Aikatsu!). Sumire Morohoshi, Azusa Tadokoro, Ayaka Ohashi, and Shino Shimoji are reprising their roles as Ichigo, Aoi, Ran, and Akari Ozora respectively.

Aikatsu! is an idol franchise that began in 2012 with the Bandai trading card arcade game Data Carddass Aikatsu!. An anime adaptation of Data Carddass Aikatsu! ran from 2012 to 2015. 

Following the original arcade game, the following years saw the release of Data Carddass Aikatsu Stars!, Data Carddass Aikatsu Friends!, Data Carddass Aikatsu on Parade!, and Data Carddass Aikatsu Planets!. All of the Data Carddass Aikatsu! games have received anime series adaptations of varying lengths. There have also been several anime movies and a web series.
