- Tyranitar’s damage from Fighting moves is doubled, making countering Tyranitar remarkably easy. Fighting-types surpass any other type against Tyranitar, so we highly urge you to stick with them.
- Tyranitar could be soloed now that the PVP update has changed the damage to Super Effective, assuming you have good fortune and a group of Machamp.
- Machamp with Counter/ Dynamic Punch or Karate Chop/ Dynamic Punch is the strongest Pokemon to use against Tyranitar. Some other dual Fighting move sets will suffice, as the gap in damage input is only about 15% at most. Machamp is also less vulnerable to Dark and Rock moves.
