Flasher have shared a new single titled “I’m Better,” the third pre-release offering from their sophomore studio album, Love Is Yours, due out June 17 via Domino. It follows the record’s lead cut — March’s “Sideways” — and its April title track. Like these previous drops, it arrives alongside a music video — this time a vintage short directed by Jolie Maya-Altshuler. It also comes with new tour dates: a Gulf South and west coast late-summer leg to follow their previously announced June run.

The new song and video are somewhat less ambitious than their predecessors. In place of the lush arrangements and high-concept visuals of “Sideways” and “Love Is Yours,” we’re presented with a familiar Flasher — enthusiastic and raw, thinking less and picking up the tempo. It’s not a bad thing: guitarist Taylor Mulitz and drummer Emma Baker both have an edge to their playing that was somewhat obscured beneath the complexity of their last two tracks.

“‘I’m Better’ is about leaving a toxic relationship and finding joy, freedom, and self assurance on the other side,” the duo write. “We filmed the video in central Oregon during a brief escape from pandemic isolation in 2021. The footage captures the expansive feeling that comes with exploring a new place or path forward.”

Watch it below and view all of Flasher’s upcoming tour dates below.
