#Yen Press Releases The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy Manga, Roshidere Light Novels, & More Titles

“Yen Press Releases The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy Manga, Roshidere Light Novels, & More Titles”

In their industry panel at Sakura Con 2022, Yen Press announced a slate of new titles that they have licensed and will release later this year. Among them include the manga The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy, a collected manga omnibus of Thermae Romae, and the light novel Arya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian

Their first release is the manga adaptation of The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy, based on the light novel series of the same name. Original writer Yuu Shimizu is credited with the writing while artist Asuka Keigen provides illustrations. It was first published in Kadokawa Shoten’s Monthly Shounen Ace magazine on November 26, 2019 with four tankoubon volumes published so far.

An anime television series adapting the light novels was announced last October.

Yen Press also announced that they will release the light novel series Arya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian (also known as Roshidere for short). It was originally written by SunSunSun in May 2020 as a web novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou, before being picked up by Kadokawa Shoten for formal publication. Artist Momoco handles illustrations for the light novel series. The first volume was released on March 1, 2021, with four total volumes published so far.

With the release of the second volume, main heroine Arya made her debut as a VTtuber on YouTube to celebrate the occasion.

Mari Yamazaki’s Thermae Romae will be receiving a collected manga omnibus sometime later this year as well. The publisher licensed the manga series for the North American market back in 2012. The seinen manga series ran in Comic Beam magazine from 2008-2013, with six volumes released in total.

Thermae Romae has inspired a short 2012 anime series and a newer 11-episode anime adaptation from Netflix in 2022.

The Gods’ Games We Play light novels will also be published for the English market for the first time. The series is written by Kei Sazane and illustrated by Toiro Tomose. The light novels were first published on January 23, 2021 under Media Factory’s MF Bunko J imprint. Four volumes of the series have been published in total so far.

An anime adaptation for the light novels was confirmed to be in the works in January.

Another light novel series titled King’s Proposal has been licensed by Yen Press and will be published for the first time in English. The work comes from the creators of Date A Live, with Koushi Tachibana writing the story and artist Tsunako providing illustrations.

Sakae Saitou’s Touring After the Apocalypse manga series will also be released by Yen Press in North America. It is highly recommended for fans of the Girls’ Last Tour manga and anime because of their similar stories. Saitou first launched the slice-of-life manga in Dengeki Maoh magazine on September 26, 2020.

Lastly, Yen Press announced the release of an interesting manga series called The Gay Who Turned Kaiju. It was created by Kazuki Minamoto and first started out as a series of independent doujinshi that ran from 2017-2021. A single volume of the manga was published, compiling all 10 chapters of the series.
