#Yen Press Announces Global Partnership with Hachette in the U.K., India & Australia

Yen Press announced a new global partnership with Hachette UK, Hachette India, and Hachette Australia to handle sales and distribution to accounts and retailers outside of North America.

Services for Yen Press will go live through Hachette UK starting on December 16, 2024, Hachette India on February 3, 2025, and Hachette Australia on April 1, 2025.

Hachette Business Development Director Russell Evans provided the following statement:

We’re all equally pleased and excited to be welcoming Yen Press to the Hachette family for sales and distribution services in the UK, India, Australia, and New Zealand. We already have the pleasure of working with Yen Press at Hachette Book Group US, so the inclusion of these additional territories makes this a truly global partnership.

Kurt Hassler, Publisher and Managing Director of Yen Press, adds:

Yen Press began as an imprint under HBGUS and has benefitted significantly from their exceptional sales and distribution services since transitioning to a client services relationship. We are thrilled to be expanding this partnership working with Hachette UK, India, Australia, and New Zealand and look forward to increasing the availability of manga, light novels, and manhwa at a global level together.

Yen Press is the latest publisher to join Hachette UK as part of the company’s third-party expansion plans. Digital light novel publisher J-Novel Club also announced a distribution agreement with Hachette Book Group earlier this past March.

Other noteworthy publishers who formed partnerships with Hachette UK include Profile Books in 2021, Elsevier in 2022; Flame Tree Publishing and British Library Publishing in 2023, and Pinnacle Books and Lonely Planet, who joined earlier in 2024. Hay House and Bloomsbury Publishing will join Hachette UK in early 2025.
