“#World Heroes’ Mission Passes 2.66 Billion Yen Mark”
The My Hero Academia The Movie: World Heroes’ Mission movie has made over 2.66 billion yen (~US$24.2 million). The movie previously grossed over 2.06 billion yen (~US$18.73 million) in late August.
Additionally, the movie’s website announced that movie-goers in Japan who watch the movie from September 11 will receive a “(WHM) Special Making Book.” There will be 300,000 available copies in total.

The “(WHM) Special Making Book” marks the movie’s third wave of goodies. The first featured a special My Hero Academia Vol. World Heroes manga, while the second featured an illustration of Deku, Bakugō, Shōto, and the movie’s original character, Rody Soul. Both the special manga and illustration were created by My Hero Academia author Kōhei Horikoshi.
World Heroes’ Mission premiered on August 6 in Japan. It is the third movie in the My Hero Academia series, following 2018’s Two Heroes and 2019’s Heroes Rising, as well as the highest-grossing film entry. World Heroes’ Mission was placed five in the Japanese box office rankings over the weekend.
The My Hero Academia manga that inspired the anime began serialization in 2014 and has 31 tankōbon volumes as of August 2021. The anime series began in 2016, with its fifth season premiering in March 2021. Both the movies and the series are produced by Bones.
World Heroes’ Mission‘s story sees series protagonist Deku being wanted for mass murder. At the same time, the heroes have two hours to stop a plot to bring about the destruction of the world.
