#Chilling new video shows deadly Beirut explosion from up close

Dramatic video captured the deadly Beirut explosion from up close, showing smoke and flames pouring out of a warehouse’s window right before the blast.

The 20-second clip posted on Twitter by Aurora Intel appears to have been taken from the rooftop of a nearby building in the Lebanese capital’s port district.

Popping sounds can be heard as thick plumes of grey and black smoke stream out of the warehouse.

Flames can then be seen in the windows, as the camera moves back — right before a massive blast fills the sky with dust.

The camera then shakes and appears to fall, showing only yellow smoke and dust.

It’s unclear who shot the footage.

The blast on Tuesday sent a mushroom cloud high into the sky above the Middle Eastern city, leveling much of the city’s port area, damaging some buildings and blowing out windows in others.

At least 137 people — including at least one American — were killed and as many as 5,000 others were injured in the explosion.
