Selena Rivera-Apodaca allegedly robbed a man with a pink Taser in an online date gone wrong.
Boston Police Department
Selena Rivera-Apodaca, 24, of Kent, Washington, was arrested Tuesday at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Boston, where officers met the woman in her hotel room after the victim contacted security staffers, Boston police said.
The victim told cops he earlier met Rivera-Apodaca on an online dating app and the pair met up in the hotel’s lobby before heading to her room, where they spoke for about 30 minutes.
The man said Rivera-Apodaca then pulled out a pink Taser — a “Femme Fatale” model that purportedly packs 3.5 million volts — and held it to his armpit while rummaging through his pockets, stealing about $140 in cash, Boston police spokesman Sgt. Det. John Boyle told The Post.
The man, who was not shocked with the stun gun, managed to get out of the room and proceeded to contact hotel security staff, police said.
Responding cops then met the woman at her room on the 14th floor, where she denied knowing the man.
“The suspect stated she had never seen the victim before,” Boston police said in a statement.
The woman became uncooperative as officers tried to sort out what happened. She then started a FaceTime call with another man as cops found a pink Taser atop her luggage, police said.
Rivera-Apodaca, who was charged with armed robbery, was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Boston Municipal Court, police said.
