#Louisville cop attends roll call day after being shot at protest

One of the Louisville police officers shot Wednesday night amid protests over the Breonna Taylor indictment decision was back to his precinct the next day for roll call.

Maj. Aubrey Gregory, who was shot in the hip, received a standing ovation as he limped into a room at a Louisville Metro Police Department station house filled with his fellow officers.

“We’re happy to share this short video of Major Gregory, walking in to one of our roll calls less than 24 hours after being shot,” the department posted on Facebook, along with a video of the moment.

“Major Gregory is still recovering from his injury and is not back to full duty…. yet,” the post read.

The other officer who was shot, Robinson Desroches, is still recovering at the hospital. He was struck in the abdomen below his bullet-resistant vest.

The officers’ alleged shooter, Larynzo Johnson, 26, was charged Thursday with first-degree assault and first-degree wanton endangerment.

Johnson “intentionally used a handgun to fire multiple bullets at officers. Two officers with LMPD were struck by the bullets causing serious physical injury,” according to his arrest citation obtained by the Louisville-Courier Journal.
