#Woman dies after bike collides with motorcycle in NYC

A bicyclist is dead following a Saturday morning collision with a motorcycle in Brooklyn, police said.

The tragic episode unfolded at about 7:40 a.m. when police responded to a 911 call at the intersection of 55th Street and 3rd Avenue in Sunset Park.

A man on a 2018 Suzuki GSZ-R Motorcycle was heading northbound on 3rd Avenue when he struck the woman on the bike, police said.

The man was later taken to NYU Langone Hospital – Brooklyn with head trauma in critical but stable condition, authorities said.

The cyclist, 31, was pronounced dead at NYU Langone, officials said.

A preliminary investigation by police determined the 29-year-old male was operating a black and white 2018 Suzuki GSZ-R motorcycle northbound on 3rd Avenue when he collided with the woman as she pedaled her bicycle eastbound on 56th Street, cops said.

The collision caused both to be ejected from their rides, authorities said.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and no charges were immediately filed. The name of the victim was being withheld pending family notification.
