#Wind Breaker Returns for 2nd Season in 2025

Shortly after the first season finale of Wind Breaker, it has been announced that a second season is scheduled to premiere sometime in 2025. A 15-second announcement video was also released to confirm the second season’s production. 

Crunchyroll also confirmed that season two will be streamed in over 200 countries and territories worldwide. The streaming service streamed the first season worldwide, outside of Japan.

Toshifumi Akai (Fate/Grand Order – Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia) directed the anime’s first season, with Hiroshi Seko (Jujutsu Kaisen) as screenwriter, Taishi Kawakami ( “White Snow,” Akebi’s Sailor Uniform co-sub-character designer) as character designer, Ryo Takahashi as music composer, Yasunao Moriyasu (Bocchi the Rock! art director) as art director and designer, Asuka Yokota (Bocchi the Rock!) as color designer, and Yukiko Nagase (UniteUp!) as compositing director. CloverWorks is handling the animation production for the series.  

Meanwhile, the anime’s main voice cast includes: 

  • • Yuuma Uchida as Haruka Sakura
  • • Koki Uchiyama as Kyoutaro Sugishita
  • • Nobunaga Shimazaki as Hayato Suo
  • • Yuuichi Nakamura as Hajime Umemiya
  • • Ryota Suzuki as Touma Hiragi
  • • Shoya Chiba as Akihiko Nirei
  • • Kengo Kawanishi as Taiga Tsugeura
  • • Toshiyuki Toyonaga as Mitsuki Kiryu
  • • Ikumi Hasegawa as Kotoha Tachibana
  • • Nobuhiko Okamoto as Ren Kaji

The anime is based on the delinquent manga series by Satoru Nii, which was first launched on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket in January 13, 2021 under the Kodansha Comics label. Seventeen tankobon volumes have been released as of May 2024.

Kodansha USA releases the manga series in English, describing the main synopsis as:

Haruka Sakura wants nothing to do with weaklings—he’s only interested in the strongest of the strong. He’s from Fuurin High School, a school of near-dropout degenerates known only for their brawling strength. And in a town known for its territorial disputes, Haruka’s got only one goal — become the hero his town deserves.
