The Issue: E-mails showing Dr. Anthony Fauci discussing the possibility that COVID began in a lab.

The e-mail revelations that Anthony Fauci de-emphasized the origins of the COVID pandemic should not be shocking to anyone (“Fauci, you are a lab rat!” June 3).

Ever since the outbreak of the virus, Fauci has demonstrated a propensity for miscalculations regarding the proper approach in battling the pandemic.

He has proposed many theories on how to appropriately confront the virus, only to have his hypotheses invalidated.

It is quite obvious that he is yet another Washington bureaucrat, who is infatuated with the limelight that his position has bestowed upon him.

Back in March 2020 is when I lost all faith in Fauci.

When he started his guessing game about the cause of this virus and his constant flip-flopping, I decided that I had enough of this guy and never listened to anything he had to say again.

I would see my local witch doctor before i would listen to Fauci.

In our country’s darkest hours, Fauci became Dr. Doom and Gloom. When he was wrong, which was often, he never admitted it. He just moved the goal posts.

The latest revelations from the Fauci e-mails is powerful confirmation of his dubious handling of the pandemic.

His misguided guidance on virtually every aspect of the pandemic has left millions of people confused and unnecessarily fearful.

Fauci has become an attention-seeking political opportunist, people be damned. He should be fired immediately.

Another day, another story making you wonder how much longer Fauci can remain on this job.

It just seems Fauci is way over his head in this whole matter. He needs to go right now.

I know the left does not want this to happen, but with each passing day, Fauci’s actions — or in inactions — look worse and worse.

In respect to his e-mail from Peter Daszak, all Fauci said in return was: “Many thanks for your kind note,” hardly an acknowledgment that Fauci was dumping on the theory that the virus started in a lab.

Moreover, the e-mail from researcher Kristian Andersen indicated that what Andersen had been looking at was a “really small part” of the genome (less than 0.1 percent) and insisted that one must look closely at the sequencing because “some of the features (potentially) looked engineered.”

This year, Andersen indicated that extensive research proved no signs of lab involvement, obviously dispelling the “potentiality” of that “engineered” concern.

The fact is that Fauci has consistently indicated that we need to keep all options open and continue to investigate — which is good science.

All I really feel is betrayed: Fauci spent a year weaving his web of lies and deception, while this country and the world were at their most vulnerable.

By pushing that this was a “once in a century” pandemic, I feel that the public was continually misled into believing that humans are due a catastrophe every 100 years.

This goes to show that people really will go to any length to cover their own butt, even at the expense of others.

Is Fauci the epitome of the two-faced bureaucrat?

He has been lionized by the Democrats and the media as the end-all, be-all expert of the China virus.

His advice over the past year has been one flip-flop after another, especially during the time he was on President Trump’s task force.

The man cannot be trusted, and he must go for the good of the country and the world.

Self-serving bureaucrats should not be in charge of such a dangerous task as fighting this worldwide pandemic.
