Review:

Directed by Michael Mohan, and written by Andrew Lobel. I was looking forward to IMMACULATE, especially since it’s a film by NEON. Sydney Sweeney from HBO’s EUPHORIA portrays, Sister Cecilia. I wound up reading a few comments, and WOW, folks are close-minded. The people who think they are SO WOKE are sleeping soundly.

The film opens with Sister Mary portrayed by Simona Tabasco. She has her leg broken, and now she is being buried alive… WHAT IS THE HOLY HELL OF HELL is going on? Sister Cecilia (Sydney Sweeney) arrives in Italy. She meets everyone from Mother Superior (Dora Romano), Father Sal Tedeschi (Alvaro Morte), Deacon Enzo who picks her up to take her to the convent in Italy. Deacon Enzo is portrayed by Giiseppe Lo Piccolo.

Sister Isabelle (Giulia Heatherfield Di Renzi) is rather crabby yet informative. She takes Sister Cecilia on a tour of the convent. She does the warnings, adds some sarcasm… I like her. NO DIETARY ACCOMODATIONS. Sister Isabelle continues to remind Sister Cecilia of how difficult, and how SERIOUS she is about being a Nun, a sister. Sister Cecilia meets Sister Gwen, okay, maybe she’s a few of us. I found it strange that people stuck this woman in some kind of box. I was looking at comments, and it was as if people think, oh she is a certain character so, that’s all she can play.

Sydney Sweeney is doing a pretty good job moving right into Scream Queen. Sister Cecilia meets Father Tedeschi (he’s adorable). Cardinal Franco Merola (Giorgio Colangeli) does an amazing job in this film. Sister Cecelia shares her story with Father Tedeschi, and how God saved her. Welp! Someone didn’t share the… don’t go investigate churches and convents by yourself because well, Lord only knows what you will find.

Sister Cecilia winds up in quite a situation. Mother Superior shares something with Sister Cecilia, and she winds up hallucinating, seeing things, and well… It gets creepy. Soooooo…. Sister Cecelia has been blessed with a “miracle.” An immaculate conception if you will. (Part of me wants to say, Father Tedeschi is the Roman in this film, I’m quite everyone remembers Sidney Blackmer as Roman Castevet in Rosemary’s Baby, such an ICONIC film. Sister Gwen is unfazed by all of this. This is a movie you want to go see in the theaters, and just for the incredible music by Will Bates but the beautiful cinematography. The beautiful scenery, and architecture in this film.

Oh boy, Sister Isabelle wants to end this situation. They won’t let her leave the convent. Sister Cecilia is trying to push for a “real doctor.” SOUND FAMILIAR!!! Sister Gwen is raging. They handle that situation, and as usual the convent chose to get rid of Sister Gwen. They like to hide. Hiding and torture. “Call Doctor Gallo” – Dr. Gallo is portrayed by Giampiero Judica. WOW, that chair looks kind of like the “Exorcism” chair on display at the VAMPA museum.

Folks, I won’t give away spoilers but keeping things that are not meant to be kept on display should not be on display. Some people want to take things to the next level. Some of us have done it. It can be decent, and wild… or vile all together. Sydney Sweeney is doing her best as final girl. She brought that determination out by playing the role with heart and soul.

This movie is decent. I would say go and watch it. Go see it in theaters with your friends.
