#Will Kendrick Lamar Perform New Album Music At Day N Vegas 2021?

“#Will Kendrick Lamar Perform New Album Music At Day N Vegas 2021?”

K. Dot, who’s expected to perform on Friday (November 12), hasn’t dropped an album since 2017’s Pulitzer Prize-winning album DAMN. and his fans have been anxiously awaiting a follow-up. While there have been little glimmers of hope (like footage of Kendrick shooting a music video around the Los Angeles area last September), nothing concrete has been announced.
On the Day N Vegas flyer, the line under Kendrick’s name — “One Night In Vegas. From Section.80 to DAMN.” — has some people thinking it will be at least 2022 before Top Dawg Entertainment finally rolls out the album. But others think there’s no way he’d agree to a headlining slot unless he had new music to promote. So once again, only time will tell.

Kendrick Lamar album hype was at an all-time high in April when Top Dawg Entertainment fired off a cryptic tweet touting a release date.
“THE WAIT IS OVAH!!!!” it read. “#TDE.” The post also came with an animated GIF of what looks like a computer booting up and the date “5/7/21” at the end. But Kendrick fans soon learned, the post was promoting another talented member of the TDE family.
On May 5, the elusive Isaiah Rashad became a trending Twitter topic after TDE shared a YouTube video to their account teasing a May 6 premiere. After some digging, TDE fans uncovered the big surprise is apparently a video and single from Rashad called “Lay Wit Me” featuring Quality Control rapper Duke Deuce.
Very little is known about K. Dot’s impending studio album. But in March 2020, frequent collaborator and bass virtuoso Thundercat confirmed his involvement during a video interview with Japanese fashion brand Neet Tokyo, saying, “I think I worked on the new one a little bit. But not as much.”
From there, he pivoted to Kendrick Lamar’s overall career and continued with, “I feel like Kendrick is and will be a beacon of what it means to be one of the more creative artists of our generation through the way the albums have twisted and turned. It speaks beyond its years. Him as an artist, he inspired me a lot. A lot.”
The Day N Vegas event takes place at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds from November 12 to 14.
