#Sheriffs shut down rogue NYC party packed with ravers

Authorities broke up a party at a Chelsea venue aptly named Rogue Space where they found 205 revelers who had gathered to drink and smoke hookahs in violation of city and state COVID-19 rules.

The early-morning raid Friday took place after deputies from the New York City Sheriff’s Department did online research and saw that a party had been scheduled for the space at 516 West 26th St.

The deputies saw a white box truck at the location marked BOOM VIP Events and workers unloading tables, chairs and velvet ropes.

Inside, they found the partygoers were not social distancing or wearing masks, authorities said.

Ahman McLure, 36, a promoter from Bay Shore, Long Island, was given summonses for violating emergency coronavirus orders and operating an unlicensed bottle club among other infractions.

Theodore Pamphile, 30, from Brooklyn, who was DJ, also received violations of the emergency orders along with employees Taurean Deroche, 35, of Brooklyn and Jaydee Contreras, 31, of Tampa Bay, Fla., authorities said.

Indoor entertainment spaces are allowed to operate at 25 percent capacity but all patrons must wear a mask except when eating or drinking.

The party broken up at Rogue Space in Chelsea today.

The party was advertised online as a pay-for-entry bash — which, according to the State Liquor Authority, means the party organizers were supposed to have a permit to distribute and store alcohol and have licensed and documented security on hand. Violations of those rules are misdemeanors, the sheriff said.

BOOM VIP events could not immediately be reached for comment.
