#Whistleblower NYPD cop busted for alleged role in NYC nightclub brawl

A whistleblower NYPD cop who helped expose the karaoke-bar corruption scandal in a Queens precinct was arrested Thursday for his alleged role in a weekend brawl at a Manhattan nightclub, police sources said.

Sergeant Steven Lee is facing three felony assault charges in connection with the melee at the Marquee in Chelsea at about 2 a.m. Saturday, the sources said.

The 43-year-old cop was allegedly among one of two feuding groups that started beefing inside before the chaos spilled onto the street, according to the sources.

Lee allegedly hit some people in the opposing group while another suspect on his side severely injured another victim, sources said.

Once the dust settled, three people — two men and a woman — were injured, sources said.

Investigators are still searching for the unidentified suspects who were with Lee that night.

Lee was suspended Thursday following his arrest, sources said.

The NYPD acknowledged a suspect by the name of Steven Lee was busted, but did not confirm he is a cop.

Lee told The Post in 2018 that he went undercover for IAB, working to sniff out dirty cops in the 109th Precinct who were taking bribes from owners of karaoke bars in the neighborhood.

Two cops from the command were arrested and convicted in the case — but Lee alleged the systemic corruption in the precinct was overlooked.
