#While The Rest Of The World Celebrated, Some Fans Weren’t Too Thrilled With Kishimoto’s Return To Naruto & Boruto, Why? » OmniGeekEmpire

Masashi Kishimoto, creator of Naruto, Naruto Shippuden, and Boruto: Naruto Next Generation was welcomed with open arms by nearly everyone in the Naruto community when it was announced that he’ll return to henceforth write the chapters from Chapter 52 onwards. It was so celebrated that his name trended worldwide! However, despite this great news, word on the cyber street is that some fans weren’t too happy by this news and I wanted to explore why!

Kishimoto is a legendary name in the anime community. Many fans grew up on Naruto and it has impacted their lives in so many ways! No one can deny he’s a great writer. However, he too has some of his own criticism, one of which is how he depicts women in his series! Just search “Kishimoto” on Twitter and you’ll soon come across many fan’s annoyance with his return. It’s actually no surprise some people would act like this, the times have changed and many fans have adopted the progressive outlook on how women should be represented in media. To be fair, I can’t agree with these fans as Kishimoto has done a good job of included strong and interesting women throughout the series run, yet there’s no denying that some female characters (Sakura and Hinata) didn’t get the progress they should have gotten. So it’s a 50/50 depending on who you ask, but seeing that the series was primarily aimed at young boys, it shouldn’t be all that surprising.

Kodachi as a writer has done a great job with the manga and many fans felt he had a lot more to offer, but from what I was able to gather it seems this was pre-determined. Which makes sense when you think about it, if I created a character, I’d like to be the one who concludes his/her story! Whether you like Kishimoto or not, you have to give him his respect for creating a worldwide recognizable brand that has shaped the lives of so many fans. However, let’s not forget what this man Kodachi did to Sarada, those were some questionable attire this little girl was wearing.

Also, there’s fear that Kishimoto will focus on Naruto and Sasuke, and somehow neglect the new generations all together, which is absurd to even think like that. As I said, I think Kishimoto coming back is a sign that Naruto and Sasuke time is coming to an end and he wants to be the one to end those two beloved characters. If they are going to die, it has to be done right, and I mean RIGHT! From there, Boruto will have to stand on his own two feet, and you’ll need the creator to help guide that new frontier. He’s also a master of rival characters so we are going to see a more in-depth rival between Kawaki and Boruto for sure so it’s all good!

Look, majority of the fans are incredibly happy with seeing Kishimoto back, and to some of them it outweighs the depiction of female ninja, however, Kishimoto has grown as a writer so it’s very unlikely that he’s going to just destroy what Kodachi has built up! Let’s just see where he’s going to take the story!
