#Jhené Aiko Reportedly Sued Over California Car Accident

Jhené Aiko has reportedly been sued over a car accident in 2022 that took place in California.

According to legal documents obtained by The Blast on Friday (February 16), Aiko is being accused of negligence for the crash that occurred in July of 2022 at a traffic light.

The singer is being sued by an individual named as Genelle Ligot, who claims that at the corner of Ventura Boulevard and Hayvenhurst Avenue in Encino, California, Aiko “struck” her vehicle from behind while waiting at a traffic light.

The document reads: “[Ligot] was stopped at a traffic light when [Aiko] struck [her] from behind. Due to the negligent actions of [Aiko] while operating the motor vehicle, [Ligot] was injured in health, strength, and activity.”

Ligot has reportedly suffered “wage loss, loss of use of property, hospital and medical expenses, general damage, property damage and loss of earning capacity.”

Ligot is also demanding a jury trial, claiming that Aiko acted negligently and caused her injuries.

Last time the “Sativa” singer was involved with the law, she was handing out a restraining order.

In August, she and her partner Big Sean filed for a temporary restraining order against an alleged stalker whose creepy behavior had been ramping up.

According to TMZ, the couple went to the courts looking to be granted a restraining order against 29-year-old Ian Craig Lees.

The singer was reportedly “fearing for her life” as Lees had shown up to various events and concerts, and even broke into her and Sean’s Pacific Palisades home that they share with their children.

These legal dramas are a stark shift in tone from last time Aiko was in the news.

Back in November, she and her partner Big Sean were celebrating their little boy Noah’s birthday as a family, taking the now-one-year-old to the zoo.

The “Best Mistake” rapper and the “Bed Peace” crooner took to their respective Instagram Stories to share matching photos of Aiko and little Noah checking out a large tortoise.

While Aiko kept the caption simple — “1st birthday” — Big Sean couldn’t resist gushing about his little guy.

“Daddy so proud n grateful for you son!” he wrote. “We celebratin all week! Noah’s big 1 [blue heart emoji].”
