#Angel-Ho Announces Alla Prima EP, Shares New Song “Juice”: Listen

Experimental Cape Town producer Angel-Ho has announced a new EP called Alla Prima. The record arrives September 25 via Hypderdub. Ahead of the EP, Angel-Ho has shared lead song “Juice.” Hear it below.

“As I was going through some of the darkest times in my life, the music I made allowed me to continue making art and became an escape for myself,” Angel-Ho said of the EP in a press release. “It’s music to transport you to a higher frequency and dimension.” Angel-Ho also described the record as “Hip Hop Haute Couture.”

Alla Prima was produced by the duo Bon, who have worked with Gaika, Mykki Blanco, Kojey Radical, and others. The title of the EP is an Italian painting term that refers to applying wet-on-wet oil paint. According to the press release, the term also translates to “on first attempt,” which relates to Angel’s recording method; one-take vocal freestyles that were edited against production by Bon.
