#What’s New in elementary OS 6.1 Jólnir, Available Now

Are you looking to make an operating system change? It might be time to give elementary OS a chance. Version 6.1 of the OS has arrived, and it brings with it some really exciting changes that make it more than worth a look.

The developers posted a detailed breakdown of everything coming to elementary OS 6.1, and it looks like it’s building on everything Odin brought to the table. The company says, “elementary OS 6.1 Jólnir takes the same foundation as OS 6 Odin and elevates it to a new level of polish.” On top of the extra polish, it has plenty of new features, too.

One of the most significant changes is improvements to AppCenter. With it, you’ll find over 90 curated apps for elementary OS users.

Significant improvements are coming to the desktop. According to the developers, “For OS 6.1, we focused on improving and polishing the experience across the entire desktop, from quick window switching and picture-in-picture to animations and the dark style.” So basically, the latest version of elementary OS is all about improving usability, which is exactly what you want to see from a major OS update.

It also comes with fixes to the installer, various updates and fixes settings, updates to Mail, Tasks, Calendar, Web, Files, and other apps.
