BLACKPINK‘s Rosé is opening up about struggling with her mental health as a global superstar.

During the annual Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit at Apple’s Cupertino, California campus last week, the K-pop singer revealed that being a celebrity isn’t always glamorous, especially when you’re constantly “under the public eye.”

“I do feel like some of the things I do is just never enough, and no matter how hard I work on something,” Rosé told Apple CEO Tim Cook and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden during a panel discussion about mental health.

“There’s always gonna be somebody who has their own opinion or who enjoy taking control of the narrative. And so, that comes to me as a sense of loneliness,” she said, adding, “just as we feed ourselves for better health and fitness, mental health can only be maintained equally — if not more intentionally — as our physical well being.”

To illustrate her point, Rosé confessed that her own “journey has not always been the easiest,” saying “there have been… some difficult trials along the way.” She went on to say these challenges eventually taught her that “in order to create and share positivity through my music, my mental health needs to be taken care of as a matter of priority.”

“Prioritizing my mental health has helped me incredibly to complete my recent world tour and meet my fans all over the world,” she added, referring to BLACKPINK’s recent [BORN PINK] ENCORE world tour.

Watch Rosé discuss her mental health beginning around the 8-minute mark.
