#Crowdfunding: Support for Manga JAM Session

“Crowdfunding: Support for Manga JAM Session

With a crowdfunding campaign, the young publisher Manga JAM Session from Vienna is asking for your support for further production…

It’s been around since 2019 first manga publisher in Austria On behalf of Manga JAM Session (MJS), but the team behind it has been publishing manga in German since 2018. Based in Austria’s capital Vienna, managing director Taito Yoshino set up the German-language small publishing house himself. In the beginning, the manga was only published digitally, but in 2020 the first printed publication (possibly with bonus material) started.

Yoshino’s desire to publish his own favorite manga in German prompted him to publish a few titles with little capital and experience. Some titles from well-known Japanese publishers such as Kodansha and Kadokawa have already been snagged. The company’s catalog includes “From now on sister!” (anime adaptation announced), «Time Stop Hero» and «Fabiniku». According to MJS, the partners Crunchyroll (Germany), Morawa (Austria) and Buchzentrum (Switzerland) act as distributors.

This is where the fans come in

Unfortunately, Manga JAM Session is about to end. The MJS team has put everything into the products for the last 3 years and has hardly been able to pay a salary for it. For the continued existence of the company and the continuation of existing manga series, Klein-Verlag is now asking for financial support. Money is now being collected on the crowdfunding platform StartNext to achieve these goals.

Until September 15, 2022 Supporters can donate an amount to cover certain production and printing costs on the StartNext page. In addition to individual amounts, there are also rewards for certain amounts as a thank you: from manga to thanksgiving in manga volumes. Anyone who cannot support financially and still wants to contribute can share the campaign with friends.

  • 24.000 Euro: faster publication of the above volumes and negotiations with Japanese publishers about new licenses
