Microsoft is actively investing in virtual and augmented reality devices and technologies. The Redmond software giant might consider these new interactive interfaces as a replacement to what we have these days to interact with hardware and software. Windows 10 is already supporting a number of hardware and apps that allow using mixed reality.

So, it is quite expected to see virtual reality-related options in Microsoft Edge. The browser now supports two new switches for site permissions that control site access to virtual device options available on your device.

You can find both in Menu > Settings > Site permissions:

Microsoft Edge Virtual Augmented Permissions

The first one is called Virtual reality. It allows or denies website access to your virtual reality devices and data.

The second one is Augmented reality. It manages access of websites to a 3D map of your surrounding or your track camera position.

Note: Microsoft has started delivering Microsoft Edge to users of Windows via Windows Update. The update is provisioned for users of Windows 10 version 1803 and above, and replaces the classic Edge app once installed. The browser, when delivered with KB4559309, makes it impossible to uninstall it from Settings. Check out the following workaround: Uninstall Microsoft Edge If Uninstall Button is Grayed Out.
