#Watch Steve Earle Perform Justin Townes Earle’s “Harlem River Blues” on Kimmel

Steve Earle and his band the Dukes appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Thursday night (January 7), where they performed the song “Harlem River Blues,” written by Earle’s late son Justin Townes Earle. After the song ended Earle paid additional tribute to his son: “see you when I get there, cowboy,” he said. Watch Steve Earle & The Dukes’ “Harlem River Blues” and “Far Away in Another Town” performances below.

Justin Townes Earle died of an accidental overdose last summer at age 38. The elder Earle recorded a handful of his son’s songs for his new album JT. The record arrived on January 4, which would have been Justin’s 39th birthday. Proceeds from the project will be put in a trust for Justin Townes Earle’s young daughter.
