#Fugitive captured after calling police to say he suffered snake bite

An Idaho fugitive was captured in Oregon last Thursday after he called police claiming he had been bitten by a rattlesnake, authorities said.

Ryan Paul Henry, 33, reported the bite to authorities and also told them he was lost in the Hells Canyon area of Oregon, according to the Baker County Sheriff’s Office.

Henry, who had a warrant out for his arrest for violating parole, at first gave police a wrong name, the sheriff’s office said.

After learning his real identity, the sheriff’s office assembled a team of deputies and US Forest Service officers to locate Henry.

When the fugitive was found, there was no indication he had suffered a snake bite, the Wallowa County Chieftain reported.

Henry was taken to Baker County Jail and held there on the Idaho warrant.
