#Hunter Henry gets $37.5 million

The Patriots are in drunken sailor territory.

Bill Belichick had plenty of salary cap space entering NFL free agency, and he appears to be on a mission to use it all. New England is signing tight end Hunter Henry to a three-year, $37.5 million contract with $25 million guaranteed, according to ESPN.

That means the Patriots signed the top two free-agent tight ends after they landed Jonnu Smith Monday on a four-year, $50 million contract.

New England spent more than $200 million on Day 1 of the legal tampering period, bringing in pass-rusher Matt Judon ($56 million), receivers Nelson Agholor ($26 million) and Kendrick Bourne ($22.5 million), cornerback Jalen Mills ($24 million), nose tackle Davon Godchaux ($16 million) and former Jets defensive lineman Henry Anderson ($7 million, worth up to $11 million.)

The Pats also re-signed quarterback Cam Newton on a $5.1 million contract worth up to $14 million. Now, he has much better weapons at his disposal.
