“”The Vision of Escaflowne” from today on ProSieben MAXX

Starting today, ProSieben MAXX will be broadcasting the anime “The Vision of Escaflowne” on free TV!

After the TV return of the series was announced last year, the time has now come: ProSieben MAXX is now always broadcasting the retro anime “The Vision of Escaflowne”. Monday to Friday a 5:35 p.m on TV off. As usual, the episodes are also available for streaming in the broadcaster’s free online media library. This is not the first time that the anime has been shown on free TV in Germany: the German version premiered on MTV in 2002.

The 26-episode anime from 1996 was produced in the studio Sunrise (including «InuYasha»). A German release was initially only in OmU version on VHS. Later «The Vision of Escaflowne» received a complete disc edition from Nipponart.

 

This is what the series is about:

At the center of the action is the fourteen-year-old high school student Hitomi, who prefers to spend her free time reading tarot cards. When the girl is suddenly plagued by visions of devastating mecha battles in an alien world, it doesn’t take long for Hitomi’s vision to finally become reality: during sports training, a dimensional gate opens before her eyes and releases a young warrior, being pursued by a giant dragon, into their world. When the warrior has defeated the dragon and wants to return to his world via the dimension gate, Hitomi also falls into the pillar of light and seconds later finds herself in Gaia, the warlike fantasy world from her dreams, in which she has to face exciting adventures from now on…
