#Watch Kamasi Washington Join All-Star Marvin Gaye Tribute Performance at Grammys 2021

Kamasi Washington, Gregory Porter, Grace Potter, and around 17 other artists covered Marvin Gaye’s “Mercy, Mercy Me (The Ecology)” to kick off the Premiere Ceremony today at the 2021 Grammy Awards. Gaye’s original “Mercy, Mercy Me” was the second single from 1971’s landmark What’s Going On and became one of the best-known songs of his career. Earlier this year, Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer declared January 20 as “What’s Going On” Day in honor of the 50th anniversary of the release of the album’s title track as a single.
