To promote the ongoing theatrical release in Japan, the official website for Tokyo 7th Sisters -Bokura wa Aozora ni Naru- (We will be the blue sky), the all-new anime feature film inspired by Donuts’ smartphone rhythm game Tokyo 7th Sisters, has posted a live performance clip of “KILL☆ER☆TUNE☆R,” which was introduced early in the film.

“KILL☆ER☆TUNE☆R” was added in the game as the third single of the franchise’s main idol unit 777☆SISTERS on March 19, 2015, then later included in the unit’s first full album “H-A-J-I-M-A-L-B-U-M-!!” released on May 20 of the year. It has been one of the unit’s most popular song among fans.

The Toei Animation-animated 77-minute film was originally scheduled to be released in the summer of 2020 to commemorate the game’s sixth anniversary but had been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was finally  released in 20 theaters in Japan on February 26, 2021. Due to its small number of theaters, it didn’t appear in the overall box office ranking but ranked second in Kogyo Tsushinsha’s min-theater ranking.
