Bruce Springsteen stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Thursday (December 10), ahead of his stop on Saturday Night Live this week. In the meandering chat, he touched on his new album Letter to You, but primarily indulged Fallon in a walkthrough of his life, from transformative early encounters with music through to Born to Run, Broadway, his relationship with the “very old” gang the E Street Band, and, well, quite a bit more. J Balvin and Mandy Moore also appeared on the show. Balvin spoke about his recovery from coronavirus and its impact on his mental health. Moore played “How Could This Be Christmas?” If the prospect of Jimmy Fallon and Lil Nas X battle-rapping in Santa outfits whets your appetite, that also happened.

Springsteen released Letter to You in late October. A few weeks later, he joined Jack Antonoff on the single “chinatown.”
